Colin Ward is the Vice President of Population Health and Clinical Integration at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH). In this role, he works with providers to improve the quality and coordination of care for residents of Harford County Maryland. Together with his team, he has launched innovative strategies aimed at reducing unnecessary hospital utilization, such as telemedicine programs with Skilled Nursing homes, Community Health Worker programs, virtual visits for chronic disease management, and analytic tools that contribute to and leverage data from the state health information exchange, CRISP. Prior to his time at UM UCH, he served as the Executive Director of the Greater Baltimore Health Alliance (GBHA), the first Medicare approved ACO in Maryland that includes a hospital partner. His responsibilities included provider recruitment, the development commercial and government insurance ACO agreements, care management programs, and information technology implementation within the ACO. Prior to GBMC, he worked at LifeBridge Health as an Operations Consultant streamlining provider workflows in the support of Computerized Provider Order Entry System implementation. Prior to health care, Colin worked as the sports producer for WBAL-TV in Baltimore, the Production Manager for the ESPN and the ESPN Zones and the Game Day Broadcast Director for Ravens Radio on WBAL-AM. Colin has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mt. St. Mary’s University and a Masters in Health Science from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. He is also a 2018 Doctoral Candidate at Johns Hopkins.
