Leon L Haley Jr., MD, MHSA, CPE, FACEP
Dr. Haley received his BA from Brown University, his MD from the University of Pittsburgh and his MHSA from the University of Michigan. Dr. Haley completed his residency, including a year as Chief Resident, in Emergency Medicine at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Haley has also completed the Woodruff Leadership Program at Emory University and a fellowship for the National Association of Public Hospital Program. He has been funded by the Department of Defense, SAMSA, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Healthcare Foundation of Georgia. He served on the state of Georgia’s Trauma Network Commission as an appointee of the Georgia Lt. Governor.
Dr. Haley has interests and publications in health administration, operations and strategic management and diversity as it relates to healthcare and emergency medicine in particular. Dr. Haley has served on or chaired various hospital, university and national committees including the Board of Directors for the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the Institute of Medicine’s Committee on Health Insurance Status.
Dr. Haley currently serves as the Immediate Past-Chair of the Essential Hospitals Institute Board of Directors, a board member for the American Board of Emergency Medicine, a member of the CEO Executive Board for Vizient, a board member for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Jacksonville Civic Council.
Dr. Haley has received numerous awards throughout his distinguished career.
